The piece
Designedbyyou, madebyhand
A border of pink cherry-blossom branches on pale blush and white glass, cut and leaded around a hand-painted shih tzu, then fired so the paint becomes part of the glass. Ready to hang as it is: the breed, no name.
It is small, about the size of a glass bauble. Hang it where the tree lights reach it: the light comes through the glass and the whole thing glows.

Hanging & care
Hang it from a sturdy branch near the lights, where the light can come through the glass. Dust it with a soft dry cloth; never put it in water or the dishwasher. Between Christmases, keep it in its box.
In the making
Everyone madebyhand
Your order goes straight to the bench: cut, painted, fired and leaded by hand, one ornament at a time.
01
We cut the glass
Ruby, amber and emerald sheet glass, scored and broken by hand along the pattern, piece by piece.
02
We paint the portrait
The face is painted onto the centre glass with a fine brush.
03
We fire it
Into the kiln at 1,250°F, so the paint fuses into the glass. It will never fade, chip or rub off.
04
We lead and solder it
Copper foil, solder and a brass chain hold it together. Then it is checked, wrapped in tissue and sent.
